Horizon Tactical Competition Fly Fishing Rod — On the Water

The 3100-4 is a 10-foot, 3-weight, 4-piece rod built for Euro-style nymphing. Its length improves reach, keeps more line off the water and enhances the drift, and it still presents a dry fly delicately when needed. The 6100-4 is a 10-foot, 6-weight all-rounder that generates high line speed for long presentations while protecting light tippets through a sensitive tip. It has proven extremely popular with stillwater anglers who need distance, strength and control in one rod.

Competition-Ready Details

The series is packed with details for anglers chasing every advantage. Measurement wraps at 30 cm and 50 cm give an instant fish-length reference. Each rod carries an additional single-foot guide per section to reduce line slap, and an inverted stripping guide to cut down on line wrap. The 3-weight runs a down-locking reel seat to shift swing weight lower and lift tip sensitivity, while the 6-weight uses an up-locking seat with double locking rings. Both include a short fighting butt for extra control.
